Solution

Forcare is a Dutch software company providing products and services for healthcare. Their focus is ‘interoperability’ between healthcare IT systems. Their product Forview provides access to clinical information in a Health Information Exchange, enabling search and viewing a patient’s clinical documents.

Forcare had a successful first version of Forview, but it was completely aimed at functionality, not at use. Forcare wanted to improve Forview’s user interface.

In this project Stroomt applied its 5 – 3 – 1 method in order to research different possible solutions, and to come to an ideal design, that all stakeholders were enthusiastic about.

During the 5 – 3- 1 method several interaction design concepts were created, from which the best were chosen. This was done with the visual design as well. With so-called styleboards 3 possible styles were researched, from which the stakeholders chose the best one.

After the 5 – 3- 1 method the Forcare developers started coding during their sprints. Stroomt was involved in each sprint to solve interaction design and visual design issues.

COO Bernie van Welt:

“We have realised this project on time, with quality and within budget together with Stroomt. The first Beta clients let us know that they think the new GUI is a significant expansion and improvement.”
